Making Flower Essences
A curated mini-course on plant observation, plant attunement, and co-creating the mother essence
There's a particular moment that happens to people who've used flower essences for a while. You're standing in front of a plant, maybe one that's stopped you mid-walk for no obvious reason, and a thought arrives: I wonder what an essence from this one would be like.
That thought is an invitation, one that plants have extended to ordinary people for as long as they've existed. Making an essence is always available to whoever is willing to slow down, pay attention, ask permission, and listen.
Most of us come to flower essences as students of someone else's process first. We learn the remedies, we trust a producer's care and intention, and that's a real and valuable way in.
This course opens a second door: being present for the whole exchange yourself, from finding the plant to sitting with it to co-creating the essence, so the relationship becomes fully your own.
You've worked with flower essences before, whether for a few months or many years, and something in you is curious about making your own.
Maybe you're a practitioner who's never actually made a mother essence, and it's started to feel like a gap.
Maybe you're an herbalist or plant medicine person who already knows how to be with plants and wants to bring that same attention to essence work specifically.
Maybe you've loved essences from a distance and you're ready to get closer.
You don't need specialized equipment or a rare plant to begin. You need a plant that's caught your attention and a willingness to slow down and connect with it.
By the end, you'll understand how an essence is made, as something you can do yourself, for your personal use.
You'll learn to perceive a plant deeply before you ever touch it, using a structured way of noticing, alongside a quieter, intuitive kind of listening called attunement.
You'll walk through Dr. Bach's original documented method and see how modern flower essence makers apply it.
You'll get a quick-reference guide with pro tips, answering questions you didn't even know to ask.
Note: This is intended as instruction for making essences for personal use, not for becoming a producer.
This is a combination of select material from our practitioner training and foundational courses, focused entirely on this one skill. You don't need to enroll in a full certification program to learn it. You just need this piece of the path.

Do I need to be a practitioner or have formal training to take this?
No. If you can find a plant and sit with it, you have what you need to begin.
Will I need special equipment?
No. The course walks you through making a mother essence with easily accessible kitchen and household tools. However, you will need glass bottles suitable for storing the essences.
I've never made a mother essence before. Is this too advanced?
This was built for exactly that moment, the first time. It moves at a pace that assumes curiosity, not prior essence-making experience.
I've already completed Bach Flower Foundations or FES Practitioner Training. Is this still for me?
Some of this content overlaps with what's covered in those programs, since it's pulled from the same teaching. If you've already been through either, you likely have this material already. This course exists for those who want the essence-making piece on its own, without the full training around it.
How is this different from your Practitioner Certification training?
This mini-course focuses specifically on plant observation, attunement, and the making process itself. It's a meaningful, complete offering on its own, not a substitute for practitioner-level training.
What's the difference between buying the course and joining the membership?
If you purchase the course on its own, it's yours to keep permanently. If you access it through Essence Essentials membership, it's included as long as you're a member, and if you ever cancel, you'll retain access through the end of your current billing period. The membership also includes several other resources beyond just this course.
